Dhrishtadyumna is fire-born warrior destined to kill Drona and commander of the Pandava army. Son of Drupada; brother of Draupadi.
He arose from sacrificial fire with the declared purpose of destroying Drona.
In a striking irony, Drona himself trained him in warfare.
He commanded the Pandava forces and killed Drona after the teacher laid down his weapons.
Ashwatthama killed him during the night raid on the sleeping camp.
