The story of Drupada
Drupada is panchala king whose humiliation by Drona produced children destined to reshape the Kuru war. Son of Prishata; father of Draupadi, Dhrishtadyumna and Shikhandi.
As a student he befriended Drona and spoke of sharing his future kingdom.
When Drona later sought help, Drupada rejected him; Drona's pupils then captured and humiliated the king.
Seeking revenge, Drupada performed a sacrifice from which Dhrishtadyumna and Draupadi emerged.
He allied with the Pandavas and fought in the war, where Drona eventually killed him.
