Jayadratha is warrior whose role in Abhimanyu's death led to Arjuna's famous sunset vow. Husband of Duhshala, sister of the Kauravas.
He once abducted Draupadi during exile but was defeated and humiliated by the Pandavas.
Through austerity he gained a boon allowing him to hold back the Pandavas for one day, except Arjuna.
He used that power at the Chakravyuha, preventing rescue of Abhimanyu.
Arjuna vowed to kill him before sunset the next day and fulfilled the vow through Krishna's strategy.
