The story of Nala

Nala is divine-born builder credited with designing the bridge from India to Lanka. Son of the divine architect Vishvakarma in tradition.

He joined Sugriva's mobilized vanara forces in the search for Sita.

At the ocean shore his inherited engineering ability became crucial to Rama's campaign.

Under his direction the army built a causeway across the sea using stones, trees and collective labor.

The bridge allowed the entire force to enter Lanka and changed an impossible geography into a path.
