Biography

The story of Parashurama

Parashurama is axe-bearing Brahmin warrior who punished corrupt kshatriya rulers and trained later heroes. Son of sage Jamadagni and Renuka.

He received martial knowledge and a divine axe from Shiva.

After a king's men killed Jamadagni, he vowed to destroy oppressive warrior lineages repeatedly.

He later withdrew to penance and became teacher to exceptional fighters, though his relationship with Karna ended in a curse.

Tradition counts him among the immortals and places him at the meeting point of the Ramayana and Mahabharata ages.
