The story of Salya

Salya is maternal uncle of Nakula and Sahadeva, deceived into joining Duryodhana and later made Karna's charioteer. Brother of Madri; uncle of Nakula and Sahadeva.

He set out to support the Pandavas but accepted Duryodhana's lavish hospitality without knowing its source.

Bound by honor, he joined the Kauravas while privately remaining sympathetic to his nephews.

As Karna's charioteer he repeatedly discouraged him, following Yudhishthira's request.

After Karna's death he became commander and was killed by Yudhishthira.
