Vamana is small Brahmin avatar who reclaimed the three worlds from the generous king Mahabali in three steps. Avatar of Vishnu; son of Aditi and Kashyapa.

Vishnu was born as the dwarf student Vamana and approached Bali during a sacrifice.
He asked for only three paces of land, then expanded to cosmic size and covered earth and heaven in two strides.
Bali offered his own head for the third and received honor and a realm rather than simple destruction.
